Human/Nature is a a series of works that contrasts human made with natural structures, using images of Norfolk Island.
On the left is a detail of the Baptismal font at the entrance to the Chapel. The fig roots are doing their own version of horizontal and vertical.
This is one of the images that set me thinking about contrasting the human made with naturally occurring forms. The fig trees were on the way to St Barnabas from where we were staying, and it took two visits to each site to get the images used for this series. The work is one of my favourites.
