ruins of the grand hotel, maria island The Grand Hotel was the dream of Diego Bernacchi, one of many dreams that never bore fruit on the island. The site has given rise to a peculiarity in the photo - I guess it's lens flare, but then it represents well the flaming spirit of a dreamer. The notebook and pen on the brick information console are deliberately there to record the presence of now.
