Space-time 06 (Ryoanji)
This series of images explores the idea that space and time are connected, a finding of 20th century science.
The stones on the right side of this image are the first seen when entering the space of the stone garden at Ryoanji Temple in Kyoto. A sense of stillness, age and timelessness is profound.
Traveling on the Shinkansen (bullet train) affords a view of reality at speed, in the photograph on the left side of the image. Some parts of the visual field remain intact, seen in the top left. What is further away is clearer, that which is close speeds by. Time and space become relative to the position of the viewer.
This series is available in a range of sizes from 40cm (1 foot 3 inches) wide to over 2 metres (7 feet) wide. Click this link to find out more.
