Space-time 02 (Ryoanji)
This series of images explores the idea that space and time are connected, a finding of 20th century science.
It is not known what the white lines were in the left side of the image. What is close travels swiftly past the window on the Shinkansen. Of the series, this one perhaps best captures the notion of traveling and destination - the Ryoanji Temple garden. The lines highlight a sense of direction, of travel. The rocks are the destination.
There is a sense of absolute stop in the stone and moss island of the raked sea at Ryoanji. A full stop in the strongest sense, a stop leading to a moment of timelessness.
This series is available in a range of sizes from 40cm (1 foot 3 inches) wide to over 2 metres (7 feet) wide. Click this link to find out more.
